Just last night I watch the recently released movie American Dreamz, starring Hugh Grant. It wasn’t the best movie I’ve ever seen, but it wasn’t too bad either. It was just a nice light movie to watch. It had a lot of fairly comical moments in it, but as far as plot goes, there wasn’t much there.
American Dreamz was basically just a behind the scenes look at how something like American Idol might run. The critics at RottenTomatoes.com give it a 40%. I think I’ll agree with the users and give it a 57%. If you have time, and you want a laugh, you might want to check this movie out.

I recently rented this movie from Blockbuster. I’m really not sure why I picked it when I did, but it turned out to be a very good movie. From the very beggining, you are introduced to a very unique style of narration. Some of it is told in flashback, but all of the flashbacks end up answering “How did this person get to the party”. RottenTomatoes gives it a 91%. I think it probably deserves something around that.
This movie takes place in Hollywood, and it is basically a murder mystery. I won’t ruin anything for you. It is definately worth watching. Let me know what you think.

I watched this movie for the first time in December 2004. Looking back on it, I remember that I didn’t really enjoy this movie at the time. I expressed this through a blog that I wrote at the time.
Or something like that… what makes someone want to make a movie title that long anyway. So I go to the video store to find a movie and I see Jim Carey on the front of this one. I thoght.. it must be funny it has Jim Carey. The back of the box even said “Comedy” on it. I took it home and watched it. It was NOT comedy. It was a very intense drama/love story. It was well done.. but.. not my kind of movie.

I watched this movie again just a couple of weeks ago. Watching it a second time, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The first time I saw it, I didn’t really understand the chronology of the movie, and I didn’t appreciate the opening. Jim Carey doesn’t always have to be funny. He’s a brilliant actor. I suggest that you watch this movie. Rotten Tomatoes even gave it at 95%.
