Guerrilla Mail

Just a few minutes ago I found a great service called Guerrilla Mail. They provide temporary email addresses that expire after 15 minutes. I think this is a fantastic idea and I plan on using it in the future. Sometimes I would really prefer getting an email address quickly when signing up for forums than actually using my real email address. I don’t really get that much spam because Gmail is pretty good at handling it, but I like to minimize the amount of times I hand out my email address.

It’s a neat service. I create disposable e-mail addresses on my own mail server for each place I register. That means I can pinpoint who gives out my e-mail address and I can shut it down if spam comes.

FWIW, I learned of you, your blog, and this post from your Twitter post via Twittervision. Pretty neat stuff.

The whole + syntax (username+thepotentialspammer@example.com) with email messages works pretty nicely as well.

Jake, this is correct. However, some sites don’t allow you to use a ‘+’ in your email when you sign up.
