I was recently listening to the RandomShapes.com podcast and something to the extent of “People in business are usually good looking, that’s why people listen to them”, was said. At first, this comment made a lot of sense to me. It wasn’t until a little bit later that I got to thinking about it. I went through the list of the world’s richest people, who all happen to be in business, and I realized that this statement is not true at all. Let me exhibit some of the world’s richest people and let you see for yourself.
Bill Gates
Larry Flynt
Warren Buffet
Donald Trump
The Sultan of Brunei
The Pope (Yes, he runs a business)

Learn some damned aspect ratios. While the people in those pictures look godawful, at least give them some credit.
And yes, the Pope runs one of the biggest scams alive.
I agree with Jake. Fix your aspect ratios. Second, poor people aren’t exactly the cream of the crop, either.
I would say that in general, rich people look good. That’s part of the reason that they’re so rich. If we take a look at popular celebrities, everybody wants to be them.
With this particular selection of people, you only chose examples who are getting old, and therefore, have earned the right to look however they want to.
As a follow up:
When you think of businessmen, you think of sharp suits and well groomed. Those are the people that other people listen to. Do you think that people listen to Mr. Trump because he looks good? No. It’s because he has the ability to toss you on your ass without thinking twice about it.
All of these people looked good (or at least what was thought to be good in their time) at one point or another.

Hah. Enough bitching and you get to it.
Rich people can also afford to look good. Morbidly obese? Stomach reduction surgery. Face look like a horse? Cosmetic dentistry and plastic surgery ahoy. All these things are options that the “common man” typically won’t go for.
