I’m currently in the process of writing a critical essay on jPod written by Douglas Coupland.
To just quickly summarize the book for you, it’s about a bunch of people who work together, and their quest to do as little work as they possibly can. I’m writing my essay on how effective the postmodern techniques are that the authors deploys within the novel. I found it quite interesting that the author actually incorporates himself within the novel. His character, which he refers to as “the anti-Doug” had a very prominent role in the book. He was the cause of the major conflict. I won’t reveal much else, as it is a very good book, and I suggest that you read it. It’s a 500 page book, but most of the pages are not actually text in the novel. For example, a good portions of pages are dedicated to the first 65,000 digits of pi.
I will post my essay once I have a rough draft punched out. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
